Belen district, as a geographical location, is a gateway where historical events take place, and its name dates back to ancient times. Belen’s name was mentioned by various names during the Umayyad period before the Ottoman period. Evliya Çelebi, who passed through Belen in 1648, declared the name of this place as Belen. Belen means the road that is located on a slope and a high mountain and separates the two mountains in the language of the Turkmen. For this reason, it is thought that our district was named Belen.
